Welcome to my weather station. This is to display weather from Chestnut Top Mountain. Our elevation is about 2800 ft and sometimes the weather up here is just different than it is down 'in the world' as we call it.

Lots more snow fell during the night. We have a total at this time of 10-12 "  depending where you measure and a topic of urgent debate among my children.  Where is the correct place to measure depth of snow? And doesn't it begin to compress as soon as it get the least bit deep?

Currently it is 27 degrees and there is a light wind from the south at 3 mph. If the wind picks up I can imagine that the snow clinging to every single branch and twig will come down like a new snow storm.  So far no breakage of trees but they are very heavily laden.  Thankfully, we didn't have ice like so many areas did.

So what do you do on a snow day?  Well, you play outside :

You work on a puzzle:

And you make waffles.........

and vegetable soup......and Russian Tea.  And then you knit by the fire.
