Welcome to my weather station. This is to display weather from Chestnut Top Mountain. Our elevation is about 2800 ft and sometimes the weather up here is just different than it is down 'in the world' as we call it.

Iced Up

We have a thin layer of ice covering the snow today. And fog everywhere. You can't see at all up here on the mountain. What is going on down below?  Well, I'm not sure since we haven't been out. We have had a busted pipe in the basement since Sunday and water is scarce in the house. Mike and Aaron worked to jury-rig it with vise grips strap clamps and garden hose so we could have a little water until a plumber could get here. ;)  It is working....just.

Anyway, we are expecting overcast skies and temps in the low 30's today. Not really enough to melt anything. Currently the temp is 29, the 98% humidity and a slowly rising barometer 30.31. Total accumulation of snow yesterday (after the bulk of the storm) is 1.3".  Snow showers are predicted for the afternoon and evening so I am pretty sure there will be no school tomorrow either.

That's all for today

Niki
